This week we exhibited at the SYS-CON Cloud Computing Expo in NYC. I was impressed with the turnout and as usual the SYS-CON team put on a great show. More and more we are seeing the larger enterprise’s embrace cloud storage and this show was no exception. Enterprise attendees ranged from finance to pharma backgrounds all looking to better understand this new wave of technology and how it can be used to streamline operations and reduce costs. Most enterprise attendees were very interested in private clouds, especially when I came to storage. Security continues to be the main concern around public cloud storage but clearer answers are starting to emerge advancing the industry as a whole.

The sessions where well attended and ParaScale was fortunate to speak in the grand ballroom (the largest venue). Sajai described cloud storage, how it differs from cluster NAS, data types and use cases for the cloud. The room was quite full (about 80-100 people) and the Q&A lasted well into the next session.

 As part of the ParaScale launch and trade show excitement we gave away 50TBs of cloud storage software via a live drawing held on the tradeshow floor. Jeremy and Carmon from SYS-CON had the honors of picking the winner live on SYS-CON TV. Our winner was Brian Wilson from Thomson Reuters.
